The Richmond

Fog, dim sum and the edge of the continent.

Stretched between Golden Gate Park and the Presidio, the Richmond is where the city slows down. It is also where Téa grew up and where she still writes for the Richmond Review.

What it is like

Clement Street is the neighborhood’s kitchen: bakeries, bookstores, produce stands and some of the best dim sum in the city, all within a few blocks.

The Inner Richmond keeps a little more bustle. Past Park Presidio the Outer Richmond opens up into quieter residential blocks that end at Ocean Beach and Lands End.

The homes

Rows of 1920s and 1930s single-family homes with garages at street level, Edwardian flats, and a good supply of two-unit buildings. Many homes have deep yards that catch more sun than the fog reputation suggests.
